Job Description

About the role
As a key member of our apple division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the general and preventative maintenance and repairs of all plant and machinery. Your responsibilities will include assembling, maintaining, and repairing machinery and vehicles, as well as fixed infrastructure such as buildings, irrigation systems, and fertigation systems. You will ensure the functionality and reliability of all machines, engines, hydromatic, and mechanical systems. Additionally, you will liaise and coordinate with key service providers to ensure regular maintenance is conducted and compliance is maintained, including WOF and service under warranties.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure that critical infrastructure, such as water systems and frost fans, is consistently tested and maintained in operational condition
  • Ensure all Craigmore owned plant & equipment receive regular maintenance and checks in-line with manufacturer guidelines
  • Provide guidance and leadership to operators of plant and machinery
  • Ensure that pre-checks and preventive maintenance are consistently conducted
  • Management of the Plant and Machinery budget within each Orchard SPV
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with H&S regulations
  • Ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are met, driving best practice
  • Identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Engineer, or similar role with relevant and applicable qualifications
  • Understanding of basic engineering, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical principles
  • Good communication skills
  • Great record keeping skills
  • Basic Excel and Word proficiency
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage daily work effectively
